It is a privilege to be able to serve one another. At Bishop Dwenger, our athletes devote more than 25,000 hours to our community each year. We cherish strong partnerships with local community resources such as Gigi’s Playhouse, The Euell Wilson Center, A Mother’s Hope, The Franciscan Center, and dozens more. Our Saints share their time and talents with joy, making a significant impact on Fort Wane and surrounding areas while growing their faith. The ability to serve others is a great honor.

“I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”  John 13:34-35

The command to love one another (charity/service) extends to all our sisters and brothers in Christ. As we love others we demonstrate our love for God, to praise Him. The Student Service Program teaches that charity is a virtue developed through the habit of service in Jesus’ name.

Charity is the theological virtue by which we love God above all things for his own sake, and our neighbor as ourselves for the love of God.    (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1822)
